Annie Selak serves as the associate director of the Georgetown University Women’s Center. She is an expert in feminist ecclesiology and studies wounds in the church, or moments where the church fails to credibly live into its mission and causes harm. This includes instances of racism and sexism, as well as the clergy sex abuse crisis. Guided by a feminist methodology, Selak integrates the lived experience of women with a robust vision for the church. She has over 15 years of experience in Catholic ministry, and her writing has appeared in Modern Theology, Journal of Catholic Social Thought, Washington Post, National Catholic Reporter, The Conversation, Commonweal, and America. She also taught a spring 2023 class supported through the Berkley Center's Doyle Seminars project. Selak earned her Ph.D. in systematic theology at Boston College and her M.Div. at the Jesuit School of Theology at Berkeley.
