Huaping Lu-Adler
Profile
Huaping Lu-Adler is associate professor in the Department of Philosophy at Georgetown University. As a scholar, she specializes in modern Western philosophy. Among other things, she is writing a book and a series of articles on race and racism in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. She is also interested in theories of reason/rationality, especially the ways in which classical rationalism seems to fail badly. As a teacher, she is constantly in search of more effective pedagogical designs. She believes in student-centered, problem-based, and experientially grounded approaches.
