The Doyle Engaging Difference Program - Georgetown University

The Doyle Engaging Difference Program supports innovative learning experiences that equip Georgetown University students and faculty to constructively engage differences inside and outside the classroom. Looking at the past decade of program accomplishments highlights the ways in which Georgetown is working to create a more inclusive culture of teaching and learning today.

We invite the Georgetown University community to celebrate the first decade of the Doyle Engaging Difference Program. Join us via livestream on Tuesday, April 26 from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m.

Georgetown students, faculty, and staff came together to reflect on what the “I Have a Dream” speech by Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., means for higher education today as part of a virtual teach-in co-hosted by the Doyle Engaging Difference Program.

Students used gender as a prism for investigating Jewish cultural formation and tradition in late antiquity and the modern era as a part of Judaism and Gender, a Doyle Seminar taught by Julia Watts Belser in fall 2020.

This event summary highlights contributions to the "Doyle Conversations about Anti-Racism in Higher Education" event series, held during the spring 2021 semester, and identifies opportunities for further engagement in anti-racist work at and beyond Georgetown.

Students combined critical and creative thinking to explore the storytelling of migration as part of Performing Migration, a Doyle Seminar taught by Devika Ranjan (SFS’17) in spring 2021.
