Doyle Seminar Helps Georgetown Students Learn About Homelessness in DC Through Journalism

Georgetown students learned a critical and empathetic approach to homelessness and expanded their journalism skills through the class Media and Social Justice, a Doyle Seminar taught by Ann Oldenburg, assistant director of the Journalism Program at Georgetown University, in fall 2021.

Profile

Ann Oldenburg is assistant director and lecturer in the Journalism Program at Georgetown University. She began her career at the Washington Post and went on to spend more than two decades with USA Today covering pop culture topics. After earning an M.S. in aging and health program from Georgetown, she is expanding her teaching topics to include a new course on Aging and Ageism for the Medical Humanities Initiative, along with her new Media and Social Justice course.
